Weekly sermon questions and notes for LC Groups to discuss

October 6 - Victor Marx

We are excited to kick off our mission month ALL IN with Victor Marx. We are all called to live a life on mission. Victor talked about how the western church needs some smelling salt. It’s time to wake up! There should only be one type of Christian and that’s a disciple. A Christian life involves suffering. Are we willing for God to break our heart for how He feels for people? We have to give God permission to adjust our Lives.

“Stop seeking approval from people that in the end doesn’t really matter Obey God and get done what others tell you can’t be done” – Victor Marx

Victor told his story of how he was raised by a father who was an abusive pimp. He tortured him many different ways. Physically, sexually, spiritually, there were times when he was even tortured by being electrocuted. Victor had 123 visits to trauma specialist in 9 months. His mom was married 6 times and he went to 14 different schools and lived in 17 different houses. He endured a lot. Victor talked about how God uses everything for our good, and how He uses our past experiences to fulfill His purpose in people’s lives.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

II Timothy 1:7 NKJV

'And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.'

Romans 12:2 NKJV
