The ConneXion - (Connected by LOVE-Compelled to Serve)

What:  Truly Free by Robert Morris.  Jesus said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.”  (Matthew 28:18)  As believers, we have Christ and never need to be afraid.  Yet it’s also true that we are not immune to the effects of evil.  Christ has conquered sin and death, but in his infinite wisdom-for reasons that are often difficult for us to understand-evil is still permitted to exist.  Even if we’re saved and trust in Christ, we may still find areas in which we just can’t get victory.  Maybe it’s a sin we’ve confessed again and again or a constant struggle with depression, anger, or lust.  These long-imbedded patterns of shameful living continue to entangle us day after day, month after month, and even year after year.  Robert Morris invites us into a glorious truth—that the promise of being set free from the slavery of sin is a promise to be set free completely.  Although evil is real and Christians can be oppressed by it, we have the promise that the one who is in us is greater than the one who is in the world.  (1 John 4:4).  Jesus saves us, trains us to resist the power of evil, and delivers us from anything that holds us back.  With Jesus, we can be truly free forever.

War Room - Battle Plan for Prayer
Battle Plan for Prayer

What:  Our Wednesday night Intercessory Prayer Group will be using the book “Battle Plan for Prayer”, inspired by the film “War Room”.   We believe we can experience answered prayer more fully, know God more deeply and fellowship with Him more personally. Prayer should become our first plan of attack in ALL of life’s battles, not our last resort.  We want to walk in greater victory while enjoying mightily answered prayer on a regular basis.  This book reminds us to pray specifically, strategically and persistently.

Seeking Holiness

What:  As a Christian we are called to live a “holy” life.  Holy means to be “set apart”.  Set apart from the world and set apart unto God.  The book of Romans teaches us to seek God by living a life that is holy and pleasing to God.  We do this by living a righteous life that is available to us through the blood of Christ and by following the lead of the Holy Spirit.  One of the challenges we face in this world as a Christian is to not become polluted by this world.  God wants us to live a holy life in the midst of a culture that is becoming increasingly self-indulgent and entitled.  Group discussion is encouraged as we look into God’s word as we study the book of Romans.

Living Loved - Women's Life Group

What:  We will be studying the book “Uninvited” by Lysa Terkeurst.  This study will help women explore the roots of rejection, the lies we believe as a result, and the truth about who God is, who we are, and what it looks like to live loved.  Over this past summer of 2016, I went through a rough part of my life where reading this book played a very vital part in my life and my journey at the time.  This book spoke truth and life back into my life.  I feel like so many of us women go through too many times of feeling rejected and less than enough and I believe this study will help many women, like myself, live a life loved!

I am living proof.” As a facilitator of this material, I promise you a greater understanding of who you are and the influences that hold you back from your potential and promise in God.
